YPF Luz signs PPA for 100 MW Solar PV project in Argentina

YPF Luz has signed a 5-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Toyota Boshoku Argentina, a unit of Toyota Boshoku, and textile company Sewtech Argentina, for the solar energy capacity from the 100 MW Zonda Solar Park in San Juan, Argentina.

Under the agreement, the solar plant will supply up to 80% of the demand for the operations of the two companies which is equivalent to 4,600 MWh/year and the consumption of 1,270 homes. With the contracted energy, Toyota Boshoku and Sewtech will generate CO2 savings of 1,400 tons.

The project will be constructed in the department of Iglesia and has the capacity to generate enough energy to power 70,000 homes. The solar facility is targeted to be operational by Q1 of 2023.
