WKN concludes a framework agreement with John Laing

Germany's WKN AG has announced a framework agreement with John Laing Investments regarding the future acquisition of international wind energy projects.

The agreement includes an investment in France with a total volume of more than 50 MW. It is envisaged that the projects will be launched successively in the next two years. Each purchase agreement will be subject to building and operational approval of the projects. WKN will be responsible for the construction of the projects, and will be commissioned as EPC contractor by John Laing Group plc.

WKN AG, which is part of the PNE WIND Group, will be able to demonstrate its competence in project development and its decades of experience in the construction of turnkey wind farms.

Roland Stanze, COO of WKN AG, said:

“We want to expand our strategic approach to constructing international turnkey wind farms in the future. This also applies to our steadily growing WKN project pipeline in France.”

Furthermore, WKN AG has concluded a separate framework agreement with John Laing regarding a proposed investment in a WKN project in Poland with a total volume of approximately 40 megawatts. This project is scheduled to be included in one of the upcoming Polish renewable energy system auctions.

Roland Stanze. Ross McArthur Managing Director - Renewable Energy of John Laing Group added:

“We are very pleased to have the trust of the experienced infrastructure investor John Laing. WKN AG has, without a doubt, earned international recognition as a renowned project developer and turnkey provider over the course of more than 25 years. At an exciting time for the industry we are very pleased to be working together with an experienced and successful partner in WKN on these wind farm projects”.
