Total Eren starts construction of 100 MW solar PV project in Dominican Republic

Total Eren has launched the construction of the 100 MW (AC) Villarpando solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Azua province, Dominican Republic. The company owns 51% ownership of the solar farm whereas Visolar Holding SA andits partner own the other 49%

Total Eren will be responsible for the development, financing, building and operation of the solar project. The project has the capacity to generate about 200 GWh per year, enough to supply about 135,000 people in the Dominican Republic while saving 125,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

The solar farm will require an estimated US$120 million investment. Edesur Dominicana SA has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the supply of power generated by the solar facility.
