Total Eren plans to develop 112 MW wind project in Honduras

Total Eren is making a major investment in Honduras with the launch of the 112 MW San Marcos wind project. Located in San Marcos de Colón in the Choluteca Department, the project is one of the largest foreign investments in renewable energy in Central America.

On February 14th, 2023, Total Eren and Nacional de Energía Eléctrica (ENEE), agreed on the terms and conditions of a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Through this agreement, ENEE will get the lowest rate for the selling of energy from renewable sources in the country.

The San Marcos wind farm is expected to generate approximately 500 GWh of electricity a year, enough to provide power to 460,000 people in Honduras while avoiding the emission of 390,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.
