SUSI Energy Efficiency Fund has closed its second transaction in the Spanish market financing a public energy efficient lighting agreement signed between the Spanish energy service company Rubatec and the municipality of Calafell, near Barcelona (Spain).
This is SUSI Energy Efficiency Fund’s second partnership in Spain, strengthening the fund’s foothold in the Spanish energy efficiency sector. The transaction has been supported by independent law firm Bufete Barrilero y Asociados as well as Energy Efficiency Capital Advisors.
As for the project, Rubatec has already upgraded Calafell’s pre-existing street lighting systems, which will lower the municipality’s energy consumption by more than 60%, equivalent to emission reductions of around 1,400 tonnes of CO2 per year.
