SunEdison launches IPO for Emerging Markets Yield Vehicle

SunEdison, Inc. has announced that it confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) relating to an initial public offering (IPO) of the common stock of a yieldco vehicle.

SunEdison Emerging Markets Yield Vehicle will be focused on contracted clean power generation assets in attractive, high growth, emerging markets, primarily in Asia (excluding Japan) and Africa.

The number of shares of common stock to be sold and the price range for the proposed offering has not yet been determined. The IPO is expected to commence after the SEC completes its review process, subject to market and other conditions.

SunEdison is a global leader in transforming how energy is generated, distributed and owned. SunEdison manufactures solar technology and develops, finances, installs and operates distributed solar power plants, delivering predictably priced electricity and services to its residential, commercial, government and utility customers.

Last week we reported another IPO related to the energy sector in the USA. CONE Midstream Partners LP, a Delaware limited partnership formed by CONSOL Energy Inc. and Noble Energy, Inc., had announced its IPO. CONE Midstream Partners will own, operate, develop and acquire natural gas gathering and other midstream energy assets.
