SunEdison, Inc. has announced that its emerging markets yieldco subsidiary, TerraForm Global, Inc. has publicly filed a registration statement relating to a proposed initial public offering of Class A common stock.
TerraForm Global is an indirect subsidiary of SunEdison formed to own and operate contracted clean power generation assets in attractive, high-growth emerging markets. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined.
J.P. Morgan, Barclays, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley will serve as joint book-running managers in the proposed offering.
The registration statement on Form S-1 filed with the Commission has not yet become effective and the shares to be registered may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time when the registration statement becomes effective.
We have recently reported that SunEdison, Inc. was awarded an 86 MW DC solar photovoltaic project in South Africa during the fourth bid round of the REIPPPP. The solar plant will be located 20 km south of Kimberly in the Northern Cape Province. Eskom will purchase the solar energy under a 20-year PPA.
