Shell to develop 148 MWp solar PV project in Trinidad and Tobago

The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) and consortium partners bp Alternative Energy Trinidad and Tobago (bpATT), Shell Renewables Caribbean (Shell), and Lightsource bp have achieved a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development of a 112 MWac/148 MWp solar project.

BP and Shell will own equal shares (50/50). Lightsource will provide construction management services. The project will be installed in two sites: Brechin Castle (92 MWac/122 MWp) and Orange Grove (20 MWac/26 MWp).

Both solar farms are scheduled to begin construction in Q1 of 2023 and are anticipated to be operational in Q3 and Q4 of 2024.
