Sembcorp to develop 150 MW wind farm in Hebei

Sembcorp Industries has received approval from Hebei Development and Reform Commission to develop a 150 MW wind farm in Huanghua, Hebei province (China).

Specifically, the new wind farm will be located in Laoshibeihe.

The total project investment is estimated at ¥1.3 billion (US$212.5 million). Sembcorp is investing in the wind project though a joint venture with Guohua Energy Investment, in which the company has a 49 % stake.

Construction works are set to begin later this year and the project is expected to be operational by the second half of 2017.

Sembcorp has invested in solar power, waste to energy and biomass projects Singapore, China, India and UK. The company has a total of 1200 MW of power capacity, including 446 MW of wind power capacity in operation and under development in China.
