Brazil's renewable power generation company Renova Energia SA has announced it has canceled 188.2 MW of wind projects in Brazil.
The company has cancelled its Umburanas complex, with a total capacity of 178 MW, and the Alto Sertao III wind park of 10.2 MW. Some of the projects of the Umburanas complex in our database are:
After terminating these contracts, the company has reduced its 2020 installed capacity target from 2 GW to 1.6 GW. It will contribute to reduce the need for investment in the medium term and mitigate risks from the delays that some wind farms have suffered.
Last January, Renova Energia was to Alto Sertao II wind farm to the Brazilian unit of AES Corp, known as AES Brasil, for BRL600 million to BRL700 million.
Actis has announced that its wind platform Echoenergia has acquired 100% of two operating wind farms in the North East of Brazil, from Brazilian premier wind developer Casa dos Ventos. The two wind farms, with contracted 20-year PPAs, total 346MW.
