EDF Renewables has announced a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) for the 300 MW Milligan 1 Wind project (Milligan 1) located in Nebraska, USA.
EDF Renewables developed Milligan 1 and is the owner/operator of the project located in Nebraska, which has been in operation since 2021. The project is expected to provide enough energy to power up to 115,000 homes. It draws upon power generated from the combination of Vestas V110, Siemens 129, and Siemens 145 turbines. Milligan 1 will enable OPPD to meet the rapidly increasing demand for electricity in their service area while strengthening their commitment to provide sustainable energy solutions for their customers.
Vestas has secured an order to supply 54 V236-15.0 MW turbines to Equinor to power New York’s 810 MW Empire Wind 1 offshore wind project.
