Morocco-based Platinum Power, majority owned by New York-based investment fund Brookstone Partners, has reached an important milestone for the development of its three hydro power projects (HPP) in Morocco, with the achievement of "public utility" status.
These hydro power projects are the following:
Platinum Power is exclusively focused on the development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Africa including Hydro, Wind and Solar. The company has a pipeline of projects exceeding 2,000 MW.
The Moroccan electricity and water utility company, ONEE, has announced it has selected 11 pre-qualified bidders for the 120 MW Noor Tafilet solar project, in the southeastern part of Morocco.
