Partners Group acquires interest in solar developer Silicon Ranch Corporation

Silicon Ranch Corporation, an U.S. developer, owner, and operator of solar energy plants, has closed on an equity investment from Partners Group, a global private markets investment management firm.

Partners Group, which is joined in this investment round by existing Silicon Ranch shareholders, led this equity capital increase for the company with a USD 100 million commitment on behalf of its clients.

The platform investment aligns Partners Group with one of the fastest-growing independent power producers in the United States. Nashville-based Silicon Ranch is a full-service renewable energy provider that develops to own all of its projects--a business model that means it takes a long-term view of its relationships as a developer, owner, operator, and partner in the communities it serves.

Silicon Ranch Corporation was responsible for the first large-scale solar facilities in Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Silicon Ranch recently completed its first projects in Colorado and will significantly expand its portfolio across the U.S. over the next 18 months through organic growth and strategic corporate development.

Partners Group will draw on its long track record of investment in the conventional power, renewable power, and energy infrastructure sectors globally on behalf of its clients to support Silicon Ranch's strategic vision and growth objectives. The scale of the investment positions Silicon Ranch to accelerate its growth strategy by developing new projects, entering new markets, and exploring project and portfolio acquisition opportunities.

Stephens Inc. served as the exclusive financial advisor to Silicon Ranch for this transaction.

Matt Kisber, Silicon Ranch President and Chief Executive Officer, stated:

"Silicon Ranch is honored to welcome Partners Group as our newest business partner. They are absolutely the right partner to help us accelerate our business model of developing to own all of our projects for the long-term."

Reagan Farr, Vice Chairman and CFO of Silicon Ranch added,

"The solar industry in the U.S. is in the midst of rapid, dynamic expansion, and Silicon Ranch is well-positioned to play a meaningful role in its development. Adding Partners Group as a business partner further enhances our ability to offer full-service renewable energy solutions to our diverse customer base across the country."

Todd Bright, Head of Private Infrastructure in the Americas, Partners Group, said,

"We are excited to make this investment on behalf of our clients. The US solar energy sector is as attractive an opportunity set as it has ever been, and we are entering the space through a company that we see as a leader within its peer group. We will work closely with Silicon Ranch's management team and existing investors to build on the company's past successes by developing new solar projects, entering new markets and identifying potential acquisition opportunities."

David Vickerman, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President of Silicon Ranch said,

"This significant and strategic investment by Partners Group allows Silicon Ranch to scale its strong platform in the U.S. solar market. Further, the combination of Partners Group's investment joining with our current global institutional shareholder, Greystone, expands our ability to capitalize on strategic opportunities."
