San Antonio-based solar developer OCI Solar Power has signed a deal to sell its Alamo 6 solar farm to the multinational holding company Berkshire Hathaway. OCI Solar Power, is part of South Korea’s OCI Co.
According to sources, the total consideration of the transaction could reach certain US$385 million.
The 100- MW Alamo 6 solar farm is located in far west Texas (USA) approximately 270 miles west of San Antonio. This massive power plant is equipped with more than 444,000 Mission Solar Energy modules. In addition, the project utilizes inverters by KACO new energy and trackers by Sun Action Trackers.
In 2012 OCI signed a power-purchase agreement (PPA) to sell its power to municipally-owned utility company CPS Energy.
This project is part of the 400 MW Alamo Project providing energy to CPS Energy, San Antonio’s municipal utility company.
sPower has announced that they were awarded a 25-year PPA with Silicon Valley Power (SVP), the City of Santa Clara’s municipal electric utility, to provide 49.5 MW of wind power.
