New appointment to develop Larkfleet's renewables business

Larkfleet Group has appointed renewable energy expert Matthew Hicks, who has a first-class honours degree in construction cost management and quantity surveying from Nottingham Trent University, to the newly-created post of renewables investment director.

Matthew joins Larkfleet after a 15 year career with AECOM Energy. He was most recently head of low carbon energy at AECOM, responsible for leading multi-disciplinary engineering and project development teams as part of a £5,000,000 per year turnover consultancy business unit.

In his new post he will be responsible for expanding Larkfleet Group’s involvement with a variety of new energy technologies. His tasks will include leading the group’s activities in technology commercialisation, creating innovative business structures for new project development opportunities and advancing new funding routes for multiple business units within Larkfleet Group. He will oversee the strategic direction of the group’s technology companies, market analysis and opportunities development.

Matthew Hicks, stated:

Larkfleet has an established reputation for investing in and developing new renewable generation and energy-reduction technologies. My appointment will help the group to give this aspect of its business a sharper focus. It is an exciting time to be joining an innovative business and I am looking forward to bringing some new ideas through from ‘drawing board’ to commercial implementation.
