Mexico’s CFE rejects bids for Topolobampo III IPP

Mexico's national utility CFE has announced it has rejected all bids to build and operate the Topolobampo III combined cycle power plant in the state of Sinaloa becuase the annual capacity charges proposed by the bidders were all above CFE's budget.

The annual charges for capacity is the amount CFE would pay annually to the independent energy producer for the supply of electricity.

CFE also announced it will launch a new tender for the project in the near future.

All bids submitted for the 666MW power plant project to be built in the municipality of Ahome complied with the technical requisites and an electricity generation price below the CFE's maximum.
