Luxcara buys 111.2 MW Egersund onshore wind project in Norway

Luxcara GmbH, the German asset manager, has purchased the 112.2 MW Egersund wind project in southern Norway from developer Norsk Vind Energi AS.

Egersund Wind Farm will be built at Åseheia and Kolldalsheia in Eigersund municipality, a few kilometres east of Egersund town. The project area is located near the planned electricity transmission cables between Norway and Germany.

The total electricity output from the 33 wind turbines is expected to be approximately 400 GWh, which corresponds to the consumption of 20,000 households or more than 100,000 electric cars.

In June, Norsk Vind announced that construction work was initiated at the site of the project. The new facility is expected to be operational by October 2017. Once completed Norsk Vind Energi will be in charge of the maintenance of the wind farm for Luxcara.
