Latham & Watkins add oil&gas Partner in London

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Simon Tysoe will be joining the firm’s London office as a partner in the Corporate Department.

Tysoe specialises in complex, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and project development work in the oil and gas sector.

Nick Cline, Latham & Watkins’ London Office Managing Partner, said:

“The investment we’ve made in our London corporate department, combined with our global strength in the energy and natural resources sector, makes Simon an exciting addition to our London office. Not only is he a highly regarded oil and gas practitioner, but he has significant experience in the African market that further enhances our credentials in the region following the arrival of Kem Ihenacho last year. We are delighted that Simon will be joining us.”

Michael P. Darden, Global Chair of the Oil & Gas Transactions Practice at Latham, said:

“Simon’s arrival is another important step in building a market leading, truly global oil and gas practice following the opening of our Houston office in 2010.”

Tysoe completed his LPC at Guildford College of Law in 2000 and joined Herbert Smith as a trainee (now Herbert Smith Freehills). He was promoted to partner in May 2010.
