Kyocera starts construction for 29MW plant in Tottori Prefecture

Japan’s Kyocera has announced that it has started construction on a 29.2MW solar plant in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture.

The Tottori Yonago Mega Solar Power Plant is expected to generate enough energy to power around 11,000 homes and is being developed on land of a former golf course site.

The company said the project is expected to be completed in March 2018.

In July 2015, Kyocera also announced the development of a 23MW plant on an abandoned golf course near Kyoto, while also planning a 92MW installation on a golf course in Kagoshima Prefecture back in May.
