K&L Gates hires Energy and Infrastructure Projects Partner in Washington DC

Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has appointed Jeff M. Cohen as a partner in the energy and infrastructure projects and transactions practice.

Jeff M. Cohen joins K&L Gates from Troutman Sanders LLP and will be located at the Washington, D.C., office of the firm.

Focusing his practice on the development and financing of domestic and international energy and infrastructure projects, Cohen advises on cross-border business transactions, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and business dissolutions within the energy, telecommunications, mining, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.

Cohen has represented clients including developers, sponsors, financial institutions, borrowers, equity participants, and sovereign governments in waste-to-energy, hydroelectric, wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, and fossil fuel projects on six continents.

David T. Case, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ Washington, D.C., office stated:

“We’re delighted to welcome Jeff, whose global business and transactional practice will enhance our offerings in Washington, D.C., and across our global platform. His experience in construction, fuel supply, power purchase, and joint venture projects will make him a trusted adviser to our clients in the energy and infrastructure space.”

Cohen is the eighth new partner or public policy professional to join the Washington, D.C., office this year, following the earlier additions of Grace P. Fremlin and Joon Yoon (corporate/M&A and IP); Allen R. Bachman (antitrust and trade); Donald A. Dempsey, Roderick D. Hall, and Stephen Martinko (public policy and law); and Ori Lev (consumer financial services).
