The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for the development of a 500 MW solar park in the state through solar power park developers (SSPDs).
The participating companies will be required to demonstrate their financial and technical capability to design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) the solar power park, indentifiying the potential site and carrying out site related studies.
The SPPD will be also responsible for creating the internal transmission network, maintain it, and connect it to the grid. the developer will be in charge of operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar park for a period of 25 years.
The 500-MW solar park will have to be set-up on a contiguous piece of land of 2,500 acres in any part of Tamil Nadu with solar irradiance ranging from 5-6 kWh per meter square a day throughout the year.
TEDA stated that land acquisition and financial closure must be completed within six months after the project signing with the selected developer.
The deadline for RFP document submission is on or before August 8, 2017 till 3:00 PM (local time).
