India launches tenders for transmission concessions

The Government of India, Ministry of Power, through PFC Consulting Limited has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) to carry out two transmission projects.

The projects will be developed on a build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) basis.

One of the projects, called North Eastern Region Strengthening Scheme (NERSS-VI), includes the establishment of: 400/220 kV, 2x500 MVA S/S at New Kohima, Imphal – New Kohima 400kV D/c line, and New Kohima – New Mariani 400kV D/c line.

The deadline to submit qualification documents for this project is 15 January 2016.

The other project, called 765kV Strengthening in Eastern Region (ERSSXVIII), includes: 765/400kV, 2×1500MVA substation at Medinipur 765 kV, and 765/400kV, 2x1500MVA substations at Jeerat (new), Ranchi (New) – Medinipur 765kV D/c line with Hexa ACSR Zebra conductor along with 240 MVAR 765 kV (765 kV, 3x80 MVAR single phase units) switchable line rector with 750 Ω NGR in each circuit, among others.

The deadline to submit qualification documents for this project is 11 February 2016.
