IFM Investors hires Senior Advisor in the U.S.

IFM Investors, a global fund manager with $46 billion under management as of October 31, 2015, has announced the appointment of Tom King as a Senior Advisor in infrastructure. 

In his new role, Mr. King will be based in Houston, Texas and is responsible for providing advice on new investments and portfolio companies for IFM Investors’ global infrastructure capability. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, specifically with large scale electric and gas transmission and distribution utilities and pipeline companies.

“As one of the leading practitioners in the energy infrastructure sector, Tom has extensive experience working with critical stakeholders from the public sector to strategic partners. Tom’s appointment further strengthens our experience and capabilities in the energy sector both in North America and globally.”

Mr. King joins IFM Investors from National Grid USA, where he was Chairman and President, and a Director of the Board of parent company National Grid plc in the UK. In this role, he oversaw all aspects of the company’s U.S. business including the financial performance and operations of 14 utility operating companies. Tom also previously was CEO of Pacific Gas and Electric Company and President and COO of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners. He was also Director of the board of EnergySavvy.
