Parkwind and its partners have completed the installation of final towers and turbines at the 257 MW Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore Wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
During the tumultuous autumn season, the final three turbines of Parkwind's Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm, comprising 27 units, were efficiently installed in under eight days. Collaborating closely, Heerema Marine Contractors, Vestas, and Parkwind employed a floating installation method, eliminating the necessity for jack-up operations. This approach was chosen to effectively address the challenging seabed conditions prevalent in the Baltic Sea region. With the completion of turbine installation, the teams will now focus on cable termination and commissioning activities.
The 257 MW offshore wind farm is located North-East of the famous Kap Arkona Cliffs, within the 12 NM Zone of Germany with water depths of up to 45 m and challenging soil conditions. The project features 27 Vestas V 174 – 9,5 MW wind turbines which will generate enough energy to power 290,000 households annually and is scheduled to commence operations by the conclusion of 2023.
