Falkon Capital to develop wind farm in Russia

Falkon Capital, through its subsidiary Alten, has placed a binding order for the Kalmykia Onshore Wind Farm Project "Priyutnenskaya VES 51 MW" to be erected in the Republic of Kalmykia in southern part of the Russian Federation.

FWT has been selected as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. The EPC contract for the turnkey realization of the wind farm comprises engineering, supply and installation of the wind turbines FWT 2.5 MW as well as all complete electrical and civil infrastructures.

Delivery of the wind turbines is scheduled to start by end of 2016, whilst commissioning is expected in the first half of 2017.

The 51 MW wind project is the first private investment wind farm in Russian Federation to be built of industrial scale. The 51 MW wind farm is the first phase of the project with a total capacity of 300 MW.

Bird & Bird LLP's German team has advised the Czech company Falkon Capital and its subsidiary Alten Ltd on the project.
