EGCO Group closes acquisition of 25% stake in 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm project

Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) has completed the acquisition transaction of a 25% ownership interest in Yunlin Holding GmbH which owns the 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.

Yunlin is a holding company that owns 100% of Yunneng Wind Power Co., Ltd. of Taiwan. The company is constructing a 640 MW offshore wind farm which will be situated in the Taiwan Strait approximately 8 km west of the coast of Yunlin County in Taiwan and covers an overall area of approximately 90 square kilometers.

Commissioning of the project will occur in phases, with Phase 1 comprising 352 MW scheduled for completion in the 4th quarter of 2020, and Phase 2 comprising 288 MW scheduled for completion in the 3rd quarter of 2021.

    JERA Co acquires 43.75% stake in 2 GW offshore wind project in Taiwan

    JERA Co., Inc., Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW) have reached an agreement on the development of the 2 GW Formosa 3 offshore wind project in Taiwan. JERA now holds 43.75% of the project, with both GIG (31.25%) and EnBW (25%) retaining material stakes.

    Van Oord to work on 900 MW offshore wind project in Taiwan

    Van Oord has been awarded the contract by Ørsted for the cable installation works at the Greater Changhua 1 & 2a offshore wind farms. The wind farms are located between 35 and 60 kilometres off the west coast of Changhua County, Taiwan. Greater Changhua 1 & 2a offshore wind farms will supply sustainable energy to approximately 1 million households per year.
