DONG Energy appoints new Chairman

On August 7th, Thomas Thune Andersen was elected new Chairman of the Board of Directors of DONG Energy A/S at the company's extraordinary general meeting.

Benny D. Loft, acting Chairman of the Board of Directors since DONG Energy's annual general meeting on 12 March, will continue as a member of DONG Energy's Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Thomas Thune Andersen has many years of experience from the energy sector and has seats on the boards of a number of international companies dealing in energy, logistics and distribution. He is i.a. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lloyd's Register Group, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of VKR Holding A/S and member of the Board of Directors of Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE), which is a leading energy company producing and distributing electricity and natural gas to customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

As SSE and DONG Energy have a partnership within wind energy Thomas Thune Andersen must resign from the Board of Directors of SSE, before he can be elected Chairman of DONG Energy. This took place at the general meeting at SSE on 17 July 2014.
