CHORUS Clean Energy AG, a firm based in Neubiberg near Munich, a company specializing in the operation of solar and wind power plants, has acquired a solar park as well as a wind park in Germany for two notable pension funds.

Both parks have a combined capacity of more than 21 MW. With the acquisition of the plants, the majority of the provided capital was invested within only a few weeks after the agreement on the cooperation. CHORUS was mandated to compile a diversified portfolio and to provide the long-term and full-service operation of the plants.

The solar park in Thuringia extends over an area of four hectares. With a total capacity of nearly 3 MW, it has already been connected to the grid on December 15, 2015.

The wind park is located in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony. It counts with six Enercon E-101 wind turbines in total, with a hub height of almost 135 metres and a total capacity of more than 18 MW.

Holger Götze, CEO of CHORUS Clean Energy AG, said:

“In line with our growth strategy, we focus on the expansion of our own portfolio with the proceeds of the IPO by at the same time further extending our asset management business. We are delighted not only to round off the portfolio of our institutional clients but to also further strengthen our position as a leading provider of asset management services for institutional investors".

The portfolio compiled for the pension funds by CHORUS is completed by two solar plants in Umbria and Lazio, Italy, with a total capacity of roughly 2 MW which was transferred from the company’s portfolio.
