Chadbourne adds energy lawyer in London

Chadbourne & Parke LLP has announced that Ursula Owczarkowski has joined the firm as an international partner in the Project Finance Group, resident in the London office.

Ms. Owczarkowski was previously with DLA Piper and is the seventh energy lawyer to join Chadbourne in London in the last year, including last month’s hire of partner Ben Donovan, also from DLA Piper.

Adrian Mecz, Managing Partner of the London office, stated:

“We continue to seek opportunities to expand our project finance and energy capabilities around the world, and Ursula’s experience in Africa and Central Asia complement our focus on the EMEA region. We are pleased to add Ursula to the team and look forward to the important role she will play in growing our practice throughout the region.”

Ms. Owczarkowski’s practice focuses on the energy sector, and she has represented various energy clients, government and parastatal entities, and lenders in the development, acquisition, financing and restructuring of projects, with a particular emphasis on projects in Africa. Chadbourne recently opened an office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ms. Owczarkowski received her LLB from the University of Leicester.

Chadbourne has a long history of working for the energy sector and is a highly regarded name in the industry. More than 100 Chadbourne lawyers work on energy-related matters. Through its 11 worldwide offices the firm has represented clients in energy transactions in more than 80 countries on six continents.
