Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), a state-owned electric utility, has launched a tender process for the Hermosillo Gas Pipeline Branch in the state of Sonora, Mexico.
This project will transport natural gas from Sásabe to Guaymas and will be interconnected to the 132 MW Hermosillo combined cycle power plant. The concession agreement will have a period of 22 years.
The project comprises the engineering, procurement, acquisition of real estate rights, permits and governmental approvals, funding, construction, operation and maintenance of a pipeline with capacity of 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The pipeline will have a length of 48 kilometers and a 16-inch diameter.
The estimated project implementation time is 16 months and it is expected to begin commercial operation in June 2017. The total project investment is about US$68 million.
