BNDES to finance 21.6-MW wind farm in Rio Grande do Sul

The Brazilian Development Bank, BNDES, has announced that it will support the 21.6 MW Pontal 2A wind park located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

To be more specific, the bank will provide a loan of BLR42.4 million (US$10.3 million), of them BRL 28.4 million will be lend directly, and the remaining BRL14 million will be transferred through agency Badesul.

The total project investment is estimated at BLR90.2 million (US$22 million).

The wind farm comprises eight wind turbines, which will be supplied by French group Alstom. The Pontal 2A wind project was secured in an energy auction in 2013 and is owed by local Enerplan Energia Eolica IV SA, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) part of the Oleoplan Group.
