Ballast Nedam to sell offshore construction business

Ballast Nedam has informed that it has started a process, aimed at the sale of its business unit Ballast Nedam Offshore with the intention to conclude a transaction at short notice.

The sale of Ballast Nedam Offshore is an addition to the disposals programme that Ballast Nedam announced in February, to strengthen its financial position.

Ballast Nedam Offshore has developed into a leading market player in the young offshore wind industry.

The company provides cost-effective foundations for offshore wind farms, offering engineering, procurement, contracting and installation (EPCI) services.

Since Ballast Nedam Offshore was involved in design and build of the first Dutch offshore wind farm Egmond aan Zee in 2006 it has yielded positive results.

The sales process is managed by NIBC. The intended sale comprises Ballast Nedam Offshore B.V., all dedicated staff for EPCI services and its Heavy Lift Vessel Svanen. The asset management activities for operational wind farms will not be included in the transaction.
