Balam acquires 35 MW Mexican solar project

Balam, the mexican investment fund, has acquired the Camargo solar project in Chihuahua state, Mexico. Once fully operational the project will have an estimated capacity of 35.5 MWp.

The company in charge of construction of the project was Spain's Gransolar, which has already commenced the construction works. The project is expected to be completed within 11 months.

Funds Balam Fund I and BalamCK16 have fully funded the Camargo solar project, with an estimated investment of US$45 million.

The built-up area of the solar farm project is 90 ha (222.4 acres). It will consist of 113,000 PV solar panels and upon commissioning, it will be able to produce 83 GWh of power annually, enough to provide energy to over 30,000 homes.
