ArcLight’s sixth energy fund raises more than $5bn

ArcLight Capital Partners has disclosed that its Energy Partners Fund VI has surpassed US$5 billion in sales.

The fund is to focus on North American investments in electric transmission, production of oil and natural gas, terminals, storage, and pipelines.

With an initial target of US$4 billion, the fund has now raised a little over US$5.266 billion from roughly 203 investors according to a US Securities & Exchange Commission filing.

ArcLight started raising money for the fund towards the end of last year, registering approximately US$1.5 billion in capital commitments in December 2014. The firm has yet to disclose its intentions as to whether or not it will keep raising capital for the fund.
