AMEA Power has been awarded a 120 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in South Africa as part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP) Programme's Sixth Bid Submission Phase.
Under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement, the Doornhoek PV Project will sell electricity to Eskom. By mid-2023, construction of the Doornhoek PV Project will begin, utilizing more than 45% of locally sourced materials and resources.
The solar farm in the North West Province will power 25,000 households with 325 GWh of clean electricity per year. It will offset 290,000 tonnes of CO2 yearly.
