The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) to initiate the first competitive procurement process as part of the Renewable Electricity Program (REP).
The REP program is intended to encourage the development of 5,000 MW of renewable electricity generation capacity connected to the Alberta grid between now and 2030.
The AESO is responsible for implementing and administering the program through a series of competitions that will incent the development of renewable electricity generation through the purchase of renewable attributes.
The AESO is now accepting Expressions of Interest for REP Round 1 until April 21, 2017.
