Addleshaw Goddard hires project finance expert Oliver Carruthers

Addleshaw Goddard has hired project finance expert Oliver Carruthers as a partner in its infrastructure, projects and energy (IPE) practice.

Oliver is a project and infrastructure finance specialist and joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was Of Counsel in the Infrastructure, Mining and Commodities team.

Oliver's experience lies in advising sponsors/developers, lending institutions, funds and governments on all aspects of project finance across a wide range of sectors including social infrastructure, transport, waste, power (conventional and renewable), natural resources and secondary markets. He has been at the forefront of the UK waste and waste to energy sector, acting for both the lenders and sponsors on many of the sector defining waste PPP projects to have reached financial close in the UK since 2012.

Oliver also has extensive expertise in international and emerging markets projects and infrastructure finance with leading experience in the African natural resources sector.

Notably Oliver recently lead on the finance side for the senior creditors in closing the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route PPP project, one of the largest and most complex bond financing projects to reach financial close in the UK in recent years.
