Acciona and WindLab win Victoria wind tender

The Victorian State Government, Australia has awarded Acciona and WindLab with the rights to develop two new wind farm projects with a total capacity of  certain 100 MW together. The projects will be located in Victoria, southeast Australia.

Acciona will be in charge of building the 66 MW Mt Gellibrand site, while Windlab will be responsible for the 13-turbine Kiata site with a capacity of 44 MW

The projects are scheduled to be completed by 2018

According to sources, State minister for energy, environment and climate change Lily D'Ambrosio said:

"We're proud to be rebuilding much needed confidence in the renewable energy industry following the neglect of Liberal governments at both state and federal levels over recent years."

Acciona Energy Oceania managing director Andrew Thomson said:

"This is very positive news for the growth of Acciona in Victoria, where we already operate the 192MW Waubra wind farm and where we have a number of additional wind energy projects in development."
