Valent Energy

Valent Energy is an Australian-based developer, investor, and operator of large-scale grid battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company was founded as a joint venture between private equity firm Gaw Capital Partners and BW ESS (part of BW Group), and plans to invest more than A$2 billion to build out a pipeline exceeding 1.6 GW. Valent’s mission is to support the energy transition by providing firming capacity that complements intermittent renewable sources like wind and solar. Its portfolio currently includes seven battery projects (and one solar PV project), with key sites such as the 240 MW Mornington BESS in Victoria and a 250 MW system in Pine Lodge. Led by a leadership team with deep expertise in finance, energy infrastructure, and engineering, Valent Energy is positioning itself as a major player in Australia’s clean-energy storage landscape.
