OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE) is a wholly owned subsidiary of OQ Group, Oman’s state-owned integrated energy investment group, and serves as the country’s designated National Champion for Renewable Energy. OQAE leads the development of renewable-energy and energy-efficiency initiatives as part of Oman’s energy-transition strategy, with a focus on utility-scale solar and wind projects, green hydrogen and other low-carbon energy solutions. The company is authorized to develop, construct and manage large-scale renewable-energy projects in cooperation with national and international investors. Its portfolio includes projects such as the Jaalan Bani Bu Ali and Dhofar wind projects and the Ibri III solar project, supporting Oman’s objective of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
