Meteomatics

Meteomatics is a Swiss company that has developed 2 lines of products:

• A web-based application to access worldwide weather data and forecast, called the Weather API. It provides a wide range of information (historical weather data for the last 40 years, real-time data from different sources, forecast models from all publicly available national agencies) and their proprietary model
• An in-house and proprietary drone system called Meteodrones that provides additional data from the mid and low levels of the atmosphere, between 1 and 10km of altitude, which then feeds into the API.

Meteomatics targets businesses in need of precise and hyperlocal forecasts since weather has a direct impact on their P&L or activities. The company currently has more than 400 customers, being Energy the main sector.
