EtihadWE was established in 2020 under Federal Decree-Law No. 31, taking over the roles previously held by the Federal Electricity & Water Authority. It is wholly owned by the Emirates Investment Authority and is responsible for delivering electricity and desalinated water services to the northern emirates: Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Dibba-Al Fujairah, and Dhaid.
Its mission is to provide world-class electricity and water services, develop reliable infrastructure, and support sustainable development by rationalizing usage and preserving natural resources. The company aims to excel in service, transparency, innovation, and customer and employee satisfaction. Its strategic objectives include sustaining excellence in supply-and-demand management for both electricity and water, reducing waste, fostering innovation, and ensuring operational efficiency. EtihadWE is also investing heavily in digital transformation, improving customer experience, and aligning with environmental and social responsibilities.
