Africa50, headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco is a multilateral, pan-African infrastructure investment platform focused on supporting and financing projects that aim to accelerate infrastructure development across the African continent. It was established in 2014 as an initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB). It operates as an independent entity but works in partnership with African governments, the private sector, and other stakeholders. The primary mission of Africa50 is to mobilize funding for infrastructure projects in Africa, to contribute to the continent's economic and social development. It is involved in the development of infrastructure projects across various sectors, including energy, transport, water, and ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The platform supports projects at different stages of development, from the early planning phase to implementation. It provides both financial and technical support to infrastructure projects.
